did you do em like this
1) on a sheet of glass layer up 5 sheets at a time, 30 layers for a fin box
2) when the resin gels cut the shape of the fin out with a razor blade (if you have timed the "gel" right this will be like cutting jelly i.e very easy)
3) fix a hand held belt sander upside down in a vice and offer the fin blank up to it to refine the outline and sand the foil.
4) stand back and admire (or cry)

i used more layers than 5
i done the layers in stages and cutt it hard.
i'm not saying you couldn't do it the way you say but getting the air our of 5 or 6 layers at once is a bit tricky
getting the outside profile is easy
it's getting the foli nice and even and getting the bottom bit that fits in the box nice and square that takes a bit of time
--- I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.
